HISTORICAL – MEMBERSHIP – PUBLIC REATIONS COMMITTEE

*Location, positioning, and marking of individual grave sites within the cemetery; *Maintenance of a scaled drawing of the cemetery showing the location of known individual graves, and a listing of all known and verified individuals interned in the cemetery; *Responsible for the solicitation and promotion of membership in the Association, maintaining membership listings, and annual renewal of memberships; *Responsible for planning, solicitation, and the promotion of funding for the Association from all potential sources; *Responsible for solicitation, receiving, and compiling of genealogical information from all known sources on James Burns Gowen and descendants, and the development and maintenance of a data base for all information thus obtained or received. All information obtained, received, collected shall be compiled and published as an on-going project of the Association in systematic form to the Association Web site: www.gowencemetery.com; *Responsible for all media and public relations activities of the Association.
RESTORATION AND PERPETUAL CARE COMMITTEE
Chairperson: Bill Swan Members of Committee: Sylvia Gardenhire, Terry Kennemer, Terry Horn, Bud Mullins, Ralph Kennemer, Donna Kennemer, Beverly Marks and Don Gowen Summary of Duties and Responsibilities of Committee *Responsibility for the restoration of the cemetery; *Compiling and maintaining lists of volunteers for cemetery work projects; *Obtain required materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to accomplish desired tasks in the cemetery; *Providing for care, conditioning, repairs, replacement, and preservation of head stones and markers of individual graves in the cemetery; *Acquisition of and placement of head stones or identifying markers for individuals interned in the cemetery for which there were no original stones or markers; *Preparation and the maintenance of the cemetery grounds on a perpetual basis; *Enhancement to the cemetery by the installation of quality fencing for appearance and security; *Provide gating and access to the cemetery; *Provide quality signage for the cemetery; *Development and implementation of fund raising activities to fund a trustee account of expenditures for perpetual care of the cemetery.

This Committee shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations, activities, and decisions of the Association as established by the documents of organization for the Association and not reserved to the Board of Directors by the By-Laws.
